NDC National Executives Storm Kumawu To Meet NPP Boot-For-Boot

NDC Executive

Select executives from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), who are known as firebrands, are in Kumawu in the Ashanti region to motivate party supporters and oversee the appropriate organization of the NDC before the by-election.

However, the party has warned that it would not put up with any intimidation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), particularly from any uncooperative members of the Ashanti Regional Antwi Boasiako nicknamed Wuntomi.

NDC Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Foyo Gbande issued the warning.

"No need for violence in Kumawu, the former MP Basoah was like a brother and very gentle to all, no need for any mayhem. The NPP has a responsibility to come clean in this election, but if they bring the principle of Wontumi for which he does in this Ashanti region at the place we will not agree, and let me repeat we will not agree", he warned.

"We are paying a working visit to our party; our party includes Kumawu and all other constituencies. The NDC can work better with Ashantis, we are coming here because the Ashanti region is an important region to us coming back into power. We have about six national executives here in the region, this region is for our father Otumfuo, and here, nobody will intimidate anyone and NPP can’t intimidate us" he said.
