Afia Schwarzenegger, a controversial media personality in Ghana, has been fined 60,000 cedis instead of being imprisoned by an Accra High Court.
Afia Schwar, who appeared in court today, January 31, 2023, asked the court to remove her prison sentence, and her request was granted.
Her 10-day prison sentence was reduced after she apologised to the court after being convicted.
After paying the fee, the court also ordered Afia Schwarzenegger to remain away from social media for two years.
According to authorities, she is being kept at the High Court and will be freed after the fine is paid.
Afia Schwar was sentenced to ten days in prison for making disparaging remarks against Chairman Wontumi on UTV roughly five months ago.
The comedian was not in the country when the court dismissed its final judgement in her infamous contempt case with Chairman Wontumi.
