Aduana Stars Player Emmanuel Gyamfi Receives Five Matches Ban

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed a five-match suspension on Aduana Stars attacker Emmanuel Gyamfi for his improper behaviour on Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare in a Premier League encounter on January 1, 2023.

The former Kotoko player was charged under Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019 for stomping his former club's goalie in the 31st minute of a 0-0 draw at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa.

According to the verdict, Emmanuel Gyamfi's defence was insufficient because he confessed guilty and claimed his actions were in reprisal for a clumsy tackle by the goalie.

He will also be fined GHC 2,000 and will miss Aduana Stars' next five games, including a match against championship contenders Hearts of Oak on February 17.

"The Disciplinary Committee finds Emmanuel Gyamfi guilty on charge 1.

"The Committee hereby makes the following decisions considering previous warnings given to the player:

"1. EMMANUEL GYAMFI is given a five (5) match suspension in the Premier League with immediate effect.

"2. EMMANUEL GYAMFI is also fined an amount of Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc2,000.00). EMMANUEL GYAMFI is warned that any future misconduct may result in a more severe punishment," the statement released by the GFA read.
