The two suspects who were detained in connection with the killing of a 25-year-old nurse trainee at Mankessim in the Central Region have admitted to the crime of murder.
Following a police-led intelligence investigation, a self-styled pastor named Michael Darko alias Nana 1 and Christopher Ekow Clark, Tufuhene of Akwakrom, a Mankesim suburb, were apprehended at their different hideouts.
In an astonishing statement, authorities said that the two had admitted to "murdering the victim for money rituals."
When questioned by police, suspect Michael Darko—who is said to be the senior sister of the murdered victim and was last seen with her—led them to the spot where they had buried the body after she had been killed.
Since then, the body has been exhumed and placed in the mortuary of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
The two accused people were today, September 22, 2022, arraigned in District Court II in Cape Coast and were ordered to appear in court again on October 4, 2022.
