Gomoa Panfokrom Officially Outdoor New Odzikro And Hemaa

Elders of Asona No. I Royal Family and the entire people of Gomoa PanfoKrom officially unveiled a new Odzikrow (Chief) and Hemaa over the weekend (Queen).

The newly appointed chief and Queen mother's stool names are Osagyefo Kwaapanfo Andoh III and Nana Ama Panfowaa II, respectively.

They will be in charge of the town's socioeconomic growth.

Osagyefo Andoh, a 47-year-old educationist known in private as Mr Alex Ansah Kwaa, replaced his late uncle, Nana Agyekum IX, while Nana Ama Panfowaa, 33, self-employed, succeeded her late aunt.

Earlier in the day, the two were transported in palanquins amid fontomfrom drumming, dancing, and musketry fire through Panfokrom Township's main streets to the community centre.

They were sworn before the Oman, and then Nana Kwakwa Owusiw I, Gomoa Akyempem Bamuhen swore them in on behalf of Oman (state), following which they sat in state to be paid tribute to.

The event coincided with the commemoration of the 2023 Akwambo festival, which brought locals together to settle minor family disagreements, have fun, and plan for the Area's future.

Osagyefo Kwaapanfo and his Hemaa Panfowaa were chosen from the Asona No. I family, one of three gates that install Chiefs in the town.

As part of the process, Ebusuapayin Kweku Essel of Asona I showed them to other gates, elders, and opinion leaders in the town, who approved and guided them through all the stages.

 They were then introduced before the Akyempim Traditional Council, where they swore the oath of Office, Loyalty, and Secrecy before Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobia II, the Area's Paramount Chief and President, before being outdoored.

They praised their family, the residents of the region, and everyone who helped make their installation and outdooring a success, and they promised to work with everyone to lead the town's socioeconomic growth.

They also promised to safeguard their family's lands, which were being sold illegally, and to make the town more appealing to investors eager to invest in order to bring significant growth to the whole community.

 In a statement presented on behalf of Obrifo Ankobia, Ebusuapanyin Essel Andoh praised the chiefs and people of Panfokrom for making the town the cleanest in the traditional territory and asked them to keep it that way.

He advised neighbouring communities to follow the example of the people of Gomoa Panfokrom by coexisting peacefully in order to make the traditional area a preferred location for investors in the Central Region and throughout Ghana.

"I hope the elders will all help the new Odzikrow and the queen mother in administering the business of the town in order to enhance the lot of the people," he continued.
