Less than two weeks after announcing a change in the prices for the services provided, the management of VIP JEOUN Transport has announced yet another increase.
This time, passengers are recommended to pay attention to the new costs, which have an overall 20% increase. This is especially important for those who use VIP JEOUN Transport.
The Accra-Kumasi fare increased to GH100 as a result of the previous rate change, which took effect on Monday, October 24, 2022.
But even before the new costs were effective, consumers were hit with another 20% price increase, bringing the cost of the same Accra to Kumasi flight to Ghs120.
In response to increased fuel prices and other factors affecting transportation operations, VIP JEOUN Transport revised their fares accordingly.
Passengers who intended to travel to Kumasi and had a budget of Ghs100 in mind were spotted acting plainly irritated at the fuel station and had to alter their payment.
According to the most recent pricing shown by TotalEnergies at the pumps, the price of diesel rocketed up last week to GH23.49 a liter, an increase of almost 40% overnight.
Kerosene costs GH14.70 per liter and petrol costs GH17.99 per liter.
On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, the new pricing went into effect.
For the first pricing window in November 2022, petrol and diesel prices were expected to reach GH 18 and GH 20 per liter, respectively, according to the Institute for Energy Security (IES).
However, the IES pointed out that, regrettably, the 1.43% drop in LPG prices on the global market would not convert into a drop in prices at domestic pumps since it might cancel out the depreciation of the cedi and instead lead to the price of the product to increase further in the following days.
In October 2022, there were two price increases for fuel.
On Sunday, October 30, 2022, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo stated that his administration is striving to offer inexpensive petroleum to the nation in order to curb the rampant price increases at the pump.
