Following their victory over South Korea in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Ghanaian supporters cleaned the stadium in a gesture that should be imitated.

As they left the stadium after the game, the spectators, who were trying to uphold the Japanese ethic of cleanliness, cleaned it up.

Online users have expressed excitement in response to the video and photos of the fans tidying up the stadium, with some expressing the hope that they will carry that mentality with them to Ghana.

After the game, some prominent national team supporters refused to let the significance of Ghana's victory over South Korea sink in.

The Ghanaian supporters cleaned up the stadium's different stands before ecstatically heading to the streets.

Stadium stands are frequently covered in wrappers, old food trays, and empty disposable cups that have been left for stewards and other stadium staff to pick up.

But Ghanaians who were present for the World Cup in Qatar prevented it from happening.

They set to work and left the stadium spotless after the referee sounded the whistle to end the game.

However excited they may be, the fans are taking a cue from Japan, where residents typically show that the best manners and traditions are ingrained in them.

Below are some of the photos of Ghanaian fans tidying up the stadium:
