In the Ashanti Region between Miminaso Number 2 and Nyamebekyere on the Ejura Nkoranza road, Nuhu Soale, a victim of the robbery that left a police officer dead last Friday, has described the incident.
He claims that the robber thanked him for following their orders after snatching everything from him.
He narrated what happened “On Friday 25th November 2022, between the hours of 7pm and 8pm, I rammed into an armed robbery scene on the Ejura-Nkoranza road. This occurred between Nyamebekyere and Mininaso No2.
One of the robbers with a touch light flashed me to stop. Initially, I thought that was a police officer. He greeted me and asked about my destination. Then he asked where I was returning from, which I told him.
He then asked for the content of my bag and I said a phone and some documents. He then picked up my phone first before turning to my pockets and wallet. I emptied the content of my wallet and gave it to him and he said thanks.
He marched me to a spot where other victims were already lying down and asked me to lie down gently which I compiled.
Until they shot one police officer who had found his ID cards and one other victim to death, I would have said they were the most friendly highway robbers so far.
What saved me most was that I didn’t bother to look into his face having sensed the danger it may bring to me. This might be what led to some other victims slashing with cutlasses and one other being hit with a stick behind his neck.
