Huspuppi Begs US Court Not To Be Sent To Nigeria After Jail Sentence

Arrested Huspuppi

On November 4, 2022, the United States Central District Court in California sentenced Ramon Abass, a well-known Nigerian socialite and internet star better known by the nickname Hushpuppi, to 11 years in jail.

Hushpuppi will serve just a 9-year sentence because he has already served two years of his 11-year sentence in prison.

Hushpuppi was detained by the Dubai Police in June 2020 as a result of significant fraud schemes that defrauded people of their money and property in the US, Qatar, the UK, and other nations.

After being detained in Dubai, he was transported to the United States, where, after pleading guilty to all counts, he was given an 11-year prison sentence.

On social media, Hushpuppi displayed his lavish lifestyle and expensive possessions, including his cars, accessories, and other luxuries. This caught the attention of many people, including celebrities and well-known football players.

Hushpuppi begged Judge Otis Wright, the case's presiding judge, during his trial to give him a lenient punishment rather than send him back to his native Nigeria.

In addition, he expressed gratitude to the FBI for its diligence in bringing him to justice and expressed regret to his family.

According to sources, Hushpuppi cooperated throughout the inquiry and behaved admirably while incarcerated.
