Mankessim: Pastor Arrested For Assisting Chief In Kidnapping, Killing, And Burying Trainee Nurse

Police in Mankessim, in the Central Region, have detained a preacher after he admitted to aiding a local chief in the kidnapping, murder, and covert burial of a 25-year-old nursing trainee.

On Tuesday, September 20, the pastor and police detectives unearthed Georgina Asor Botchwey's body from her chamber in the Tufuhen of Ekumfi Akwakrom, Nana Crack.

According to evidence acquired by the media, the pastor and the chief abducted the nurse after having sex with her. The chief also serves as head of the Mankessim Traders Association.

The two are said to have murdered her after the acts and buried her in one of the chief's rooms.

After being detained at Cape Coast, the priest confessed to the crime. The victim's body was then unearthed at the chief's apartment, where he then led the police.

The victim was reported missing in notices that appeared in Mankessim. "Georgina Botchwey went for an interview at Cape Coast on Wednesday, but she has not been located and her phone is off," the notification stated. According to reports, the victim's body was buried about three weeks ago. The victim's luggage, shoes, and other belongings were also discovered in the chief's home together with the corpse.

Residents expressed their shock and indignation at the occurrence and asked the police to see that justice is done.

How on earth could a chief take part in such terrible conduct, a local questioned.

People flocked to the location of the trainee nurse's body's covert burial, sending the village of Mankessim into shock.

Assemblyman representing the region Cephas Authur pleaded with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to beef up security in Mankessim and the surrounding area.

He asserts that a situation similar to this has happened in Mankessim before.

This incidence of this type has occurred five times so far this year. I'm asking the cops to look after the Chief and Pastor," he said.

For preservation and autopsy, the victim's body has been placed in the morgue of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
