Pastor Arrested For Aiding Kidnap Of Nurse Trainee In Mankessim

A pastor has been arrested by the Mankessim Divisional Police Command in the Central Region after he confessed to aiding a chief in the kidnap of 25-year-old nurse trainee, Georgina Botchwey, who was secretly buried in the chief’s room after her demise.

The mortal remains of Georgina were disinterred on Tuesday, September 20, after the pastor led investigators to the room of the Tufohene of Ekumfi Akwakrom, Nana Crack’s room.

According to reports, the two after kidnapping her may have had several rounds of sex with her and killed her.

She was, then, buried in one of the rooms of the chief, who is currently on the run.

The body is said to have been buried for about three weeks now.

Residents have been gripped with fear about the incident since it involves a chief, a lawmaker who is supposed to have known better.

Cephas Arthur, the Assembly Member of the area, pleaded with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to tighten security in Mankessim and its neighbouring communities.

He explained that this is the 5th incident reported this year, thus the perpetrators must be dealt with.

The body of the victim has since been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.
