Christian Astu Secures A New Contract In Europe

One of Ghana’s sensational and talented forwards, Christian Atsu signs a one-year contract with Turkish club Hatayaspor.

With this deal, Atsu is now back in Europe after leaving for the Saudi club Al-Raed last year.


The player lacking a conducive playing environment in Saudi Arabia makes a u-turn to Europe and signed a deal with the Turkish top-tier club.

A statement released by the club, indicates they have an option to renew the deal for an additional year.


“We signed a 1+1 year contract with experienced right and left winger Christian Atsu, who previously played for clubs such as Everton, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Porto and Malaga”.

The signing ceremony was attended by the President of the club, Hatay Dr Lütfü Savaş, who in person welcomed and congratulated Atsu stating the importance of the player.


“We welcome Christian Atsu and wish him endless success with our burgundy and white jersey,” the club announced.

The winger has represented Ghana 64 times, with nine assists and 10 goals.
