Suspected Thief Lynched To Death In The Upper East Region

A man believed to be in his late twenties is supposedly beaten to death by an irritated mob at Kongo in the Upper East Region.

Reports reaching our news desk state that, the deceased attacked a young man around 9.05pm at the Kongo Catholic Church area with a cutlass while his partner who is currently on the run, threatened to cut the young man with a pair of scissors and a knife.


The deceased and his friend succeed in taking his belongings and escape into a nearby forest.

However, luck evaded him after the victim called for help and many youths in the area came to his rescue and gave them a hot chase.


The suspect thief was eventually caught while his colleague whose name the deceased gave as Yenimi escaped.

He was then tied with a rope against a metal barricade on the Bolga-Bawku road and was hit with stones, sticks, and metals until he finally passed out.
