Media personality Afia Pokuaa known popularly as Vim Lady has expressed worry about how Ghanaian youth are charting the path of a destructive future for themselves in the advent of social media and technology.
She believes that the next generation of leaders in Ghana will be terrible considering the lack of personal development through reading.
Afia Pokuaa indicates that the youth of Ghana will use their spare time to watch pornography online or join forums where there's talk about sex and unproductive things which has no bearing on their future development.
To her, this is worrying because if the older generation is no more, there will be difficulty in getting legitimately ready people to fill their shoes.
She made this known while speaking on Accra-based OKAY FM on the 'Gyaso Gyaso' show.
Afia Pokuaa said the problem with the youth of Ghana now is that we don't learn but have time to sit on social media and talk anyhow. We don't learn unless Ghanaians do not see a social media platform, youtube page or Instagram page where there is nudity. Today if you are enjoying this holiday you must understand the holiday.
This generation coming needs to come and develop Ghana. If you give Nana Akufo-Addo 50 years more he will not get the same applies with John Dramani Mahama. So we should stop blaming Nana Addo and Mahama. The question is when it's your time in the next 20, 30 what will you do0? So I insist that the holiday should not be used for drinking and chasing women. Think about what your forefathers did for Ghana and how you can also impact Ghana.
She noted a worrying trend of young men and women joining political parties for what they will get for themselves and not because they want to make an impact in the country.
Now people enter politics as low as 22, 23 years and they don't enter politics because they want to make an impact but rather to steal and better themselves. We are doomed because Our generation will be very bad. This is because we are wicked.
She used the opportunity to advise the youth to channel their strength into growing their knowledge and not use their data for needless things.
