One person has been killed in a ghastly accident on the Wenchi-Techiman Highway in the Bono Region.
The accident which involves an Opel Astra Taxi Cab and a Sprinter bus has also rendered four others severely injured.
According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr Kofi Odro Amponsah, the Sprinter bus which was moving towards Wa from Kumasi made a wrong overtaking which led to it colliding with a Taxi heading the opposite direction.
The accident which happened around 6:00 PM on Tuesday happened closer to the Nkonsia Police Barrier.
The four passengers who were injured in the accident have been admitted to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital receiving treatment.
The Driver of the Sprinter bus which was heading towards Wa attempted to overtake leading to the head-on with the Opel Astra Taxi which was heading towards Techiman from Wenchi. Currently, one person has lost his life while four others are battling for their lives, DSP Kofi Odro Amponsah he revealed.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital mortuary.
