Former Afghanistan Minister delivering food in Germany

A former Government official of Afghanistan has been spotted in Germany working as a food delivery man to make ends meet.

The man who goes by the name Sayed Saddat is now making a living in Germany delivering meals as a bicycle courier.

Sayed Sadaat was once a minister in Afghanistan from 2016 to 2018 but decided to quit his position because of corruption in the government.

Sadaat who holds a dual Afghan-British citizen is one of the over 210,000 Afghans who have sought asylum in Germany.

According to the 50 years old Sadaat, he left his position because of corruption in the Afghan government.

When doing the job as a minister there was a difference between the president's close circle and myself. Their demands were for private benefit, I wanted the money for government projects to be implemented properly. So I could not fulfil their demands and then they tried to push me, put pressure on me from the president's side, he said.

Sadaat made his decision to move out of the country and settle in Germany at the end of 2020 after he sensed the deterioration of security in Afghanistan

He is now being paid 15 euros an hour at his food delivery job.
