Police Arrests 3 Suspected Armed Robbers In The Upper East Region

The Ghana Police Service department in the Upper East Region has arrested three suspected armed robbers for the robbery which took place at the Gbane Minning site somewhere in 2020.

In October 2020 in the Upper West Region, workers who were working at the Gbane Mining site at Tongo in the Talensi District were robbed.


After series of investigations by the Police, three people have been arrested linking to the robbery incident at the mining site.

The identities of the three arrested are Isaac Kolong (19), Aka Lek popularly known as Mandela (32) and David Batame (22).


The Police were able to retrieve items like BB cartridges, an unregistered motorbike and a bayonet from the robbers during their arrest.

Interrogations with the suspected robbers led to the mentioning of one accomplice who is currently on the run.
