Ghanaian footballer Farouk Adams who happens to be a player for Aduana stars has been arrested by the police for killing a police officer.
The footballer has been arrested for allegedly crushing a police officer to death with his car in the late hours of Monday in the Dormaa East District.
The incident is said to have happened between Asuotiano and Asuhyiae in the Bono Region of Ghana.
The deceased Constable Amos Mattey of the Wamfie Police station on Monday 1st March 2021 left his office to purchase something but did not return back only to be found on Tuesday morning dead.
Investigations revealed that his death was caused by a hit-and-run by a red Toyota Camry which has a registration number GW5882-17.
Further investigation revealed that Farouk Adams was driving that car when the incident happened.
Another source revealed that Farouk Adams alleges he knocked down what he suspected to be an animal that crossed his car.
After knocking it down he stopped and searched but there was nothing there to be found.
He then went to the Wamfie Polyclinic to attend to the injury he sustained after that called to report the incident to the real owner of the car.
He revealed that it was his friend who later broke the news to him that the incident has resulted in the death of one person.
Upon hearing that he reported it to the Dormaa Police and was arrested.
Farouk was driving towards Dormaa from Sunyani when the incident happened.
The body of the deceased police officer has been deposited at the Presby Hospital in Dormaa while an investigation continues.
