NPP Chairman Samba's Unlicensed Fuel Stations Shut Down By NPA

Lilygold Energy Resources Limited

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has taken strict action against the illegal operations of two fuel stations owned by the Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Mohammed Bantima Samba.

The stations, which were allegedly being operated without proper licenses, were shut down by a team led by Mr. Rashid Dawuda, the Northern Regional Manager of NPA.

The unlicensed fuel stations were reportedly operating under the name Lilygold Energy Resources Limited, and they have been accused of selling petroleum products illegally to the general public.

The NPA stated that the company's license had been revoked since October 2022, but the Chairman continued to run the stations, leading to the enforcement action.

Addressing journalists in Tamale, Mr. Rashid Dawuda emphasized that the closure was not based on the Chairman's political affiliation but rather the necessity to uphold the law.

He warned that anyone found operating illegal fuel stations would face appropriate actions, irrespective of their position.

As a result of the shutdown, the NPA will flag the two fuel stations in their systems, preventing them from receiving any petroleum products from depots across the country.

The NPA urged the public to refrain from doing business with Lilygold Energy Resources Limited and reiterated its commitment to ensuring a fair and lawful petroleum distribution system in the region.
