In a recent development from the Ghana Education Service (GES), the results of the latest teachers' promotional examination have been unveiled, revealing a significant disparity in success rates among candidates.
The examination, conducted in February, showcased a commendable accomplishment rate of 69 percent, with 55,917 candidates out of a total of 80,810 successfully advancing to higher positions in educational leadership.
However, the flip side of this achievement was that 31 percent of the candidates fell short of the required threshold for advancement.
The examination served as a gateway for aspiring candidates seeking prominent roles like Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent within the Deputy Director grade.
The GES has stated its intention to inform all candidates about their results through text messages, ensuring that each participant is aware of their outcome, whether successful or not.
Notably, the promotion platform will remain closed for the current year, as the official promotion letters are set to be distributed soon.
Here's a breakdown of the performance across different grades:
- Deputy Director Grade: Out of 8,565 candidates, 54 percent (4,655 candidates) achieved success.
- Assistant Director I Grade: Among 25,556 candidates, an impressive 85 percent (21,749 candidates) displayed successful outcomes.
- Assistant Director II Grade: With 40,020 candidates attempting the exam, 61 percent (24,581 candidates) managed to succeed.
- Principal Superintendent Grade: Among 6,668 candidates, a significant 74 percent (4,932 candidates) accomplished success.
