A grim discovery shook the community of Abogri, a suburb in Koforidua, as the lifeless body of a man was found on the streets today.
The unidentified man was found naked, with a cloth covering his private parts and his leg chained to a signpost, indicating signs of potential foul play.
Although the police are yet to release an official statement, unconfirmed reports suggest that the man may have been a victim of lynching.
Adding to the mystery, a tricycle suspected to belong to the deceased was found burnt meters away from the body, further raising suspicions of a heinous crime.
The Assemblyman for the area, Mr. Sowah, narrated that he was called early in the morning to assist in getting the police to retrieve the body.
However, he could not confirm whether the man was indeed lynched, leaving the circumstances surrounding the death shrouded in uncertainty.
The police promptly intervened and moved the body to St Joseph Hospital in Effiduase, where it has been deposited for further examination and investigation.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, some residents suggested that the man might have been lynched due to alleged involvement in cable theft, yet this remains speculative at this stage of the investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to aid in resolving this tragic case, bringing justice to the victim and his family.
