The police in Delta State have apprehended a 50-year-old community chief, who reportedly has four wives, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl on two separate occasions.

The incident took place at Ebedei Ukwuole, within the Ukwuani local government area of the state.

The shocking incident came to light when the victim confided in her mother about the heinous acts she endured.

The girl's mother noticed her daughter was bleeding excessively and promptly reported the matter to the authorities.

Subsequent investigations revealed disturbing details of the alleged assaults. It is said that the chief, a father of several children, first offered the young girl N50.00 as a lure before taking her to an uncompleted building, where he raped her for the first time.

Unbelievably, the accused repeated his atrocious act, resorting to threats of harm to keep the young girl from disclosing his illicit actions.

Even after the second assault, he allegedly forced her to consume drugs, unbeknownst to her, as an attempt to maintain his cruel silence.

A source close to the investigation shed light on the situation, stating, "The time, he raped her, he did it in an uncompleted building. The third attempt exposed him after he allegedly forced her to take drugs unknown to her."

Delta State Police Command's spokesperson, DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident, assuring that the accused chief is in custody and will face the full force of the law for his abhorrent deeds.

As this disturbing case unfolds, the community demands justice for the innocent young girl who suffered at the hands of someone she should have been able to trust.

The authorities promise a thorough investigation and a fair trial to ensure that the accused faces the consequences of his actions.
