Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is refusing to rule out a potential move to Manchester United this summer.
The 24-year-old has been in spectacular form for the Serie A leaders this season, netting 23 goals in 28 outings so far.
The Nigeria international extended his superb run in front of goal on Wednesday evening as he scored twice in Napoli’s 3-0 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt which clinched their spot in the Champions League quarter-final.
United, meanwhile, have made the signing of a new striker one of their main priority this summer and it’s thought Osimhen is high on their wishlist with Harry Kane.
When questioned explicitly about United’s interest, Osimhen told Sport1: "I don’t know what the future holds. I think I’m on the right track.
"At the conclusion of the season, I will get down with my representatives and discuss everything.
"I will also be in talks with the club. I am immensely thankful to Napoli. We will find a decent answer together."
Napoli, though, remains in a strong negotiation position given he still has almost two years remaining on his current deal.
It’s claimed that Napoli, who are 18 points ahead at the top of Serie A, will seek in excess of €100 million (£88m) for Osimhen this summer.
Speaking before Napoli’s win over Frankfurt in the Champions League, Napoli’s sports director Cristiano Giuntoli insisted that conversations about Osimhen’s future will not take place until the season is ended.
‘There are other priorities today, the three of them [Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Kim Min-jae] are boys who still have many years of the contract. There is no need to talk,’ Giuntoli stated.
"But we will intensify the conversations in the summer.
"Football is made up of motives, we are Napoli. We were positive we could develop a good team and the same thing will happen in the future as well."
