The police have detained 18 individuals for causing disturbances on the University of Ghana campus.
The 18 suspects were joined by roughly 200 people who were thought to be previous members of the university's Commonwealth Hall.
The police were able to keep the situation under control, and peace has since been restored.
All 18 individuals are in police custody and will appear in court to face charges.
Since then, security on campus has been strengthened to ensure that academic activities may continue uninterrupted.
"We would like to give the assurance that all other persons involved in the disturbances will be arrested and brought to face justice," the Police said in a statement.
