Sellas Tetteh, the legendary Ghanaian football coach, has received a surprise donation from Black Stars captain Andre Ayew.
The 66-year-old coach, who is considered one of the greatest in the country, has been having financial troubles and has been lobbying the Ghana Football Association and the Sports Ministry to pay his outstanding bonuses.
Tetteh, who led the Black Satellites to a historic double in 2009 by winning the CAF Youth Championship in Rwanda and the U20 World Cup in Egypt, has struggled financially.
Ayew, who led the squad to victory in 2009, made the contribution through his mother, Mrs Maha Ayew, and Spokesman Fiifi Tackie.
The donation amount has not been disclosed.
Sellas Tetteh is a well-known figure in Ghanaian football, having managed nearly all of the country's men's national teams.
His most recent coaching position was as Technical Director for Liberty Professionals in 2021.
