Nine people, including children, were killed in an accident on the Ojuelegba axis of Lagos state.
Earlier, LIB claimed that a vehicle transporting a 20-foot container collided with a commercial bus. When the truck lost control and plummeted over the edge of the bridge, the bus was claimed to be picking up people.
Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, said in a statement that after suspending the container load using the Agency's forklift and cutting off the top of the bus with light rescue equipment, a single adult lady was extricated alive and transported to the trauma centre.
He added that the sad tragedy killed four adult males, three adult females, one boy kid, and one girl child.
He went on to say that the Agency's Ambulance, LASG FIRE, FED FIRE, LASTMA, and Nigeria Police had been working on the problem, which had finally been resolved.
''Further investigation to be carried out by the Nigeria Police on the removal of the barriers on the bridge aimed at preventing trucks from ascending,''he said
