Residents of Limousine and Amakum traditional area in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region of Ghana, have raised concerns and expressed their displeasure over the poor infrastructural development in their community.
Speaking to Davas news, they explained that, their roads and health care, particularly, have been a subject of lament for so many years and that every effort to get their subsequent and incumbent Members of parliament and District Assembly to revamp their roads has been in vain.
Our roads are very bad, we find it really difficult using it. We don't even have a hospital in any of these communities. We have to go all the way from here to Camp. Even our pregnant women sometimes use motors because of the nature of our roads. A young man died just a week ago due to this. We don't have stable electricity and potable water as well, last night some of us had a power outage. We still paid to fetch water even after the president announced free water a year ago. Also, land guards invade our lands whenever they want because our chiefs are not united.
They reiterated that the lack of development in their community is a result of their bad road networks and pleaded with the government to do something about this issue and get their chiefs to be united so they can enjoy peace and stability.
