GFA Appoints Chris Hughton As News Black Stars Coach

Chris Hughton

Samuel Nartey George, a Ghanaian politician, disclosed on live television that the Ghana Football Association has hired Chris Hughton as the next coach of the Black Stars.

On Joy Prime's morning broadcast on Monday, the Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament made this statement.

“The Black Stars coach job has already been given Chris Hughton because the GFA want someone they can control,” he said.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager will take over for Otto Addo, who stepped down following the 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage exit in Qatar.

Hughton was the technical advisor to the technical staff of the Black Stars in the Mundial.

Since Otto Addo quit during the World Cup, the Ghana Football Association has been looking for a replacement.

Hughton, Steve McClaren, and Hector Cuper were allegedly among the applicants shortlisted by the organisation for the position.
