During the 2016-2017 season, Nketiah scored 12 goals in 26 appearances for the under-23 squad and 15 goals in 16 appearances for the under-18 team. Following that season, Nketiah was called up for Arsenal's pre-season tour of China and Australia.
Arsenal
Nketiah was called up to the main team for Arsenal's UEFA Europa League match against BATE Borisov on September 28, 2017.
He replaced Joe Willock in the 89th minute as Arsenal won 4-2. His next game came nearly a month later, as an 85th-minute replacement against Norwich City in the EFL Cup.
He tied the game just 15 seconds with his first touch, then added another in extra time to win it for Arsenal. Nketiah was expected to join German Bundesliga club FC Augsburg on loan in the January 2019 transfer window, however owing to Danny Welbeck's injury, Nketiah remained at Arsenal.
Loan to Leeds United
Nketiah joined Championship club Leeds United on loan for the 2019-2020 season on August 8, 2019. On August 13, 2019, he made his Leeds debut in the EFL Cup against Salford City, scoring his team's opening goal in a 3-0 away victory.
The following week, he scored the only goal in a 1-0 home win over Brentford on his Championship debut. Nketiah was regarded as a "complete player" by head coach Marcelo Bielsa after scoring his fourth goal of the season in Leeds' 2-0 win against Barnsley on September 15, 2019.
However, an injury to his lower abdomen sidelined him for a month. He made his comeback from injury on December 7, 2019, as a substitute in Leeds' 2-0 win against Huddersfield Town.
His debut for Leeds occurred on December 29, 2019, in a 5-4 win against Birmingham City. Nketiah also started the next match on January 1, 2020, which would be his final game for Leeds before his loan stay ended in January 2020.
