Ghana's Black Galaxies have been granted a win in their last group C match against Morocco, which was set for Monday, January 23, 2023.
The African Nations Championship Organizing Committee reached this decision on January 16, 2023, in Algiers.
The absence of the Moroccan National Team from their last group C match against Sudan was noted with regret by the Committee.
The Committee reviewed the referee and commissioner's reports and applied articles 83 and 84 of the competition's rules.
As a result, the Committee determined that the Moroccan National Team will lose all of its games by a 3-0 score. This implies that Ghana, Sudan, and Madagascar will all win three points in their games against Morocco.
The top two teams from Group C will advance to the next stage of the tournament at the completion of the group phase.
Furthermore, the Committee confirmed that the match between Sudan and Madagascar, which was initially slated to take place in Oran, will instead take place in Constantine. The date and timing of the match will stay the same.
The Committee also agreed to refer the issue to the Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for further investigation. The National Team will be held accountable for the consequences of their actions.
