According to authorities, a glass boat transporting tourists capsized in southern Kenya on Saturday (Jan.21), killing three people and leaving one person missing.
The boat Holiday Jabulani capsized with 28 people on board, including the captain and crew, according to the Kilifi county administration.
The yacht had taken 13 Kenyans and 15 non-Kenyans on a snorkelling excursion roughly 300 metres off Garoda beach in the Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve.
The area is a popular tourist attraction on the coast north of Mombasa.
The boat was carrying more passengers than it could handle.
Twenty-four persons were rescued and sent to the hospital for examination and treatment of their injuries.
The Kilifi county administration said on Sunday (Jan.22) that everyone had been discharged, with one still getting treatment.
All boats operating along Kenya's coastline will be inspected by the Department of Public Service and Disaster Management.
