The National Lotteries Authority's public relations officer, Goodfellow Dei, made fun of John Mahama, the party's 2020 candidate, and his most recent fundraising campaign.
He claims that Mr. Mahama's most recent Momo fundraiser is an attack on the fundraising strategy purportedly used by Asiedu Nketiah's son.
A few days ago, Mr. Mahama requested 500,000 Ghanaians and NDC supporters to provide GHC 10 apiece to support the party's 10th Congress.
Following accusations made by the party's vice chairman, Alhaji Said Sinare, Kwaku Nketiah, son of Asiedu Nketia, was allegedly given a contract by the party to print ID cards, collect dues, and handle other financial matters while holding a 20% cut, Mahama made his declaration.
Alhaji Sinare further said that the General Secretary issued a contract to a business that receives a 20% commission on the dues and filing fees it collects from NDC members.
Without consulting the FEC, the vice chairman claimed that General Mosquito hired his son's business to collect party dues and provide cards and other items to members.
However, Aseidu Nketiah responded to the accusations by calling them a clear falsehood in a statement released through his campaign team.
The NLA PRO, however, is not convinced. According to Mr. Dei, Mahama is acting well by staying away from the purported Asiedu Nketia son's dues collecting method.
"1% E levy NDC says no but their General Secretary’s son is charging them 20% Kwasiabi Nti Levy on every dues paid to the party.
"Elder Ofosu Ampofo 1 – General Mosquito-0. Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe this is to destroy the party dues and donations platform operated by Aseidu and Sons. You can ask Edem Agbana Eric Adjei Wonder Madilo" Mr. Dei wrote.
