Argentina defeated France on penalties to win the 2022 World Cup, and Messi grabbed the Golden Ball while Kylian Mbappe went home with the Golden Boot.

Adidas Golden Ball Award – Lionel Messi

The legendary Paris Saint-Germain FC star received this year's Golden Ball award for World Cup's top player after leading his team to victory.

Messi scored twice in the Doha championship game to bring his tournament tally to seven goals. He scored once more in the penalty shootout as Argentina overcame France 4-2 after a 3-3 draw in extra time.

Mbappe won the Golden Boot for the tournament's best scorer with eight goals, one more than the Argentine captain.

Luka Modric finished third in the poll for the best player after helping Croatia finish in third place.

Adidas Golden Boot Winner – Kylian Mbappe (France)

Mbappe was presented with the FIFA GoldenBoot Award at the Qatar 2022 World Cup football final match.

He is the only other player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final, joining Geoff Hurst. The PSG player won the award after outscoring Messi by a total of eight goals on Sunday.

Adidas Golden Glove Winner – Emiliano Martinez (Argentina)

Argentina's ability to win on Sunday was made possible by Emiliano Martinez's bravery. The Aston Villa goalkeeper was outstanding throughout the game, and in the championship match versus Les Bleus, he made many jaw-dropping saves to highlight how important he is to the club.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper won the Golden Glove award for being the best goalkeeper in the competition after denying Kingsley Coman's effort in the penalty shootout.

Another Argentine, Enzo Fernandez, took up the Best Young Player award on Sunday. After missing the first two games, the 21-year-old Benfica player scored against Mexico during the group stage.

Budweiser Player of The Match – Lionel Messi

In the championship game, Messi was named Player of the Match once more. He is regarded by many as the greatest player in history. He scored twice, giving him a total of two goals for the game.

Fair Play Award – England

The Three Lions of England received the Fair Play award despite exiting the competition in the quarterfinal. In five games in Qatar, they only received one booking.
