As a result of impersonating Nana Addo, the president, the account of Ghanaian rapper Samuel Frimpong, better known as Medikal in the music industry, has been suspended.
A few days ago, Medikal replaced the President's image as his Twitter profile picture. Additionally, he changed his Twitter handle to "Mr President."
After a Sarknative (a supporter of rapper Sarkodie) reported the account, Medikal's Twitter account was suspended.
Twitter's new owner, Elon Musk, previously made an announcement and warned users that accounts that imitate someone without adding parody risk suspension.
He tweeted a few days ago, "Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying "parody" will be permanently suspended".
"Previously, we issued a warning before the suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue".
"Any name change at all will cause temporary loss of verified checkmark".
