The 2022 World Cup, which begins on November 20, 2022, in Qatar, will not have Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakso in attendance.
The long-serving Black Stars player has reportedly been left off of the final team, according to an exclusive report.
Wakaso joins a group of players that were named to the 55-man provisional squad that Otto Addo, the head coach of FIFA, was given.
According to reports, players including Jeffery Schlupp, Majeed Ashimeru, Danlad Ibrahim, Afena-Gyan, and Joseph Paintsil were removed from the team after being placed on standby.
After recuperating from a career-threatening injury, Mubarak Wakaso spent more than a year playing without a team.
The coach reportedly did not deem him physically healthy enough to compete at the World Cup in Qatar.
However, on Friday, November 10, 2022, head coach Otoo Addo will reveal the final World Cup squad.
Agent of Jeffery Schlupp criticizes GFA for leaving player off of World Cup roster
Jeffery Schlupp of Crystal Palace is apparently no longer a member of the official Black Stars team travelling to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
As a result, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) was criticized by his agent, Calvin Riches, for treating his player unfairly.
In his opinion, the GFA engages in hypocrisy and only favours players because of selectivity and favouritism.
The agent of Jeffery Schlupp vented his frustration on social media at the GFA and Black Stars head coach Otto Addo for failing to choose his player, who has been in form and is prepared to participate in the World Cup.
