Proprietress Of Malama Dangana International School Arrested For Serial Children Abuse

The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) has detained and questioned the proprietress of a purportedly Islamic international school in the Ga West Municipality for physically abusing students there.

According to MyNewsGh, their attention was drawn to the situation after a Member of Parliament alerted them.

Fatima Mohammed, a former herbalist who became a school administrator, is the owner and head of Malama Dangana International School. It has been stated that Fatima Mohammed abuses the students and runs the boarding school with "Sharia-law type" procedures.

Many parents have reported that their children were physically abused and assaulted in the school, with severe cane and belt wounds.

The alleged Malama Dangana has insulted parents who have removed their children by saying that they can do nothing to stop her because she is "powerful" and connected to the highest levels of the Muslim community.

DOVVSU investigators are said to have been persuaded to minimize the seriousness of a kid's significant wounds in the case of one youngster whose abuse reached DOVVSU Amasaman with severe cane markings on the child's bare back.

After what eyewitnesses reported as a secret "settlement," DOVVSU officials attended a private "meeting" with Malama Dangana in her own car at their premises.

The same DOVVSU authorities instructed Malama Dangana to see the child's parents, make a deal with them, and return with them.

Malama Dangana apparently shot a video of her questioning a boy who had reportedly gotten more than 30 lashes on his bare back for missing one of Islam's five daily prayers and published it, defending her course of action.

The DOVVSU investigators and the DOVVSU director of the Amasaman Branch decided against going through the legal system's proper procedure and instead ordered compensation to be given.

In addition to its many duties, DOVVSU is expected to protect the rights of the weak against all forms of abuse, including those that are allegedly taking place in the Malama Dangana International School.

These abuses can be physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, socioeconomic, or harmful cultural practices.

The DOVVSU is required to treat victims, complainants, and their families with respect and decency while establishing an efficient database for crime detection, prevention, and prosecution.

Protecting the alleged herbalist turned out to be more important to DOVVSU Amasaman and its detectives handling the Malama Dangana International School case than the victim or their families.
