The people of the Anlo State have prepared a mouthwatering entertainment schedule with musical thrills for attendees of this year's Hogbetsotso festival.
Shatta Wale, a well-known and multiple-award-winning dancehall performer from Ghana, is expected to take the stage on Friday at Eli Beach Resort in Tegbi in the Volta Region as part of celebrations commemorating this year's festival. The event is titled "Hogbe Beach Rave."
The concert will take place on Saturday, November S. Chief One, a young and promising rising musician from Volta, will perform along with other artistes from the area like Jah Phinga, Agbeshie, Gabanki, Sunshine Soldier, and others.
The great durbar of chiefs and citizens from the 36 States of the Anlo Land, according to Mr. Silas Idan, the festival's spokesperson, will take place before the musical event, which is scheduled to begin at about 1900 hours.
Otumfuo Osei-Tutu, the Asantehene of the Ashanti Kingdom, along with other dignitaries, will attend the celebration this year.
The chiefs and residents of Anlo in Ghana's Volta region celebrate the Hogbetsotso festival.
Anloga (the capital), Keta, Kedzi, Vodza, Whuti, Srogboe, Tegbi, Dzita, Abor, Afiadenyigba, Anyako, Konu, Alakple, Atsito, Atiavi, Devegodo, Atorkor, Tsiame, and several smaller villages are some significant Anlo towns.
The event is held every year in Anloga, the ceremonial and traditional capital of the Anlo state, on the first Saturday in the month of November.
Its focus is on working together for development and preserving our distinctively cultural Commonwealth for the next generations.
