Policeman killed by armed robbers

Unexpectedly, a police officer lost his life after being shot by armed men who were thought to be robbers.

Constable Moses Konee, who is around 29 years old, was travelling from Ejura to Nzema, according to a Police Situational report seen by davasnews.com.

He stumbled across a group of armed individuals who were engaged in a robbery spree when he arrived at a location on the Ejura Nkoranza road halfway between Miminaso Number 2 and Nyamebekyere.

They searched him and discovered, among other things, a police identification card; as a result, they fired close-range shots at him.

Nine (9) spent shells, an itel mobile, a pair of slippers, beads, a cutlass, a motorbike ignition key, his Police ID Card, and GHC 10 in cash were found at the location when police arrived after learning of the crime.

The police officer was taken to Ejura Government Hospital after being shot from behind at close range, but the medical officer declared him dead.

The Mampong Government Hospital mortuary was then given his mortal remains for preservation, identification, and autopsy.
