Elder Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the party's current chairman, has the option of running for the position of women's organizer, according to Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NDC's general secretary.
He claims that the platform is accessible to all competent party members who are interested in holding roles following the four-year term of the party Executives.
According to him, he can choose his forms and run for the job of a Women Organizer if the National Chairman believes he can fill it.
After every four years, all positions are left vacant. The positions are not anyone’s sole preserve in the political party and every executive becomes a caretaker. So when the platform is set and anyone who has an interest in contesting can contest.
So if you are a national Chairman and you feel you want to contest for women’s organizer, you can pick a form and contest. For me, when it’s time, I will pick forms and contest for the chairmanship position, he said.
New National Officers will soon be chosen by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to guide the party before the elections in 2024.
The party's general secretary has made it clear that he intends to run for the chairmanship.
