A former police officer in Thailand according to officials has opened fire at a preschool child daycare centre, killing at least 38 individuals.
After the incident in the northeastern city of Nong Bua Lamphu, the shooter is still on the loose.
Children and adults are among the dead, according to the police.
A report from authorities indicates that the assailant, who also stabbed and shot adults and children, is now on the run.
The reason behind his attack is not yet known.
The man in the said crime is reported to have recently been dismissed from his job as a police officer.
According to police, he was last seen driving a white, four-door Toyota pickup vehicle with registration plates from Bangkok.
