After the Weija Dam spilt on Sunday, hundreds of people in flooded settlements in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality are left stranded.
Around 7:45PM, some locals were seen carrying household items but claimed they had no idea where to go.
Mr Kwame Kwakye, a resident at Tatop, said: "As of now, I still don’t know where to go. I have been stranded since morning when our places got flooded. "
In another flooded community, Tetegu, Madam Akosua Sarpong claimed she had nowhere to sleep and pleaded with the Assembly to find them a place to stay.
Ogbogo resident Naa Okailey also claimed that when she and her family got home from work, they discovered their flat had flooded, and that they had made plans to spend the night at a friend's house.
Weija-Gbawe Municipal National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Coordinator Mr Emmanuel Adu-Boahen claimed certain safe havens had been made available inside the Municipality for displaced citizens to stay in.
He said that initiatives were being taken to get to every neighbourhood and offer temporary housing to everyone who was impacted.
Out of the 18 electoral areas in the Municipality, 14 have been impacted by the water spillage, according to Mr Adu-Boahen.
Weija, Tetegu, Ogbojo, Ashbread, SCC, and Choice are some of the affected areas.
According to reports, the Weija Dam's overflow is what triggered the disaster.
