Nigerian pimp in Ghana

The Hohoe Circuit Court has sentenced Mine Victor, a 32-year-old Nigerian pimp, to five years in prison for human trafficking.

According to the prosecution, Victor's accomplice, the second accused in the case and is only known as Cash, is still at large.

The accused enticed two teenage dancers, ages 18 and 19, from Nigeria to Ghana with promises of lucrative entertainment contracts upon arrival, the court, presided over by Michael Johnson Abbey, was informed.

On October 18, this year, when the unsuspecting adolescents arrived at Madina in Accra, the accuser informed them they would be working as sex slaves for her.

The victims had no choice but to submit to forced prostitution, according to Detective Inspector Rachel Osei Agyapomaa, who spoke before the court.

Later, the second defendant drove them to Hohoe, where she said the sex industry was flourishing.

According to the prosecution, the young ladies were first put into a hotel in Hohoe, but on October 10 Victor brought them to a location where they were forced to "serve" several males in exchange for cash.

The prosecution claims that when the police learned about Victor's sex slave business, they moved quickly to apprehend her and save the young girls.

Victor acknowledged in her warning statement that she set up the victims' trips to Ghana for sexual abuse.

The victims have already been turned over to the Ghana Immigration Service for repatriation.
