The British Minister of Defence confirmed on Thursday that 21 boats carrying 1,150 individuals were intercepted by authorities.

According to the government report, these boats were intercepted the day after the total exceeded 30,000.

This announcement clearly did not change the migrant's minds as 26,397 individuals have arrived in Britain illegally since.
Patel inked a "world-first" arrangement with Rwanda on April 14 under which the East African country would accept migrants regarded by Britain to have entered unlawfully and hence ineligible under new immigration regulations.
However, the first deportation flight, scheduled to depart on June 14, was cancelled owing to legal obstacles.
Several asylum seekers, the Public and Commercial Services Union and charities Care4Calais, Detention Action and Asylum Aid, are embroiled in court cases with the Home Office, as they challenge the legality of the policy.
