The senior national team’s coach, Otto Addo has called up the new addition of foreign players for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.
Early last month, the GFA announced the willingness of some foreign-based players of Ghanaian descent to switch allegiance from representing the country of birth to representing Ghana, the home of their parents.
As a result, they are eligible to play for Ghana after the nationality switch has been confirmed and concluded by FIFA regulations.
Players who made it to the list of the selected 29 are; Brighton & Hove Albion’s 21-year-old Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu of Southampton FC, 23-year-old defender, Stephen Ambrosius of Karlsruher SC, and Inaki Williams of Spanish La Liga team Athletic Bilbao.
U20 Hearts of Oak attacking midfielder, Daniel Afriyie is the lone local player to make the team.
Ghana will play Brazil at Stade Oceane in Le Harve, France, on Friday, September 23, and then face Nicaragua at Estadio Francisco Artes Carrasco in Lorca, Spain, on Saturday, September 24.
