Nana Akufo Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo says he is confused if Aisha Huang was first ejected from the nation due to rising worries about her actions as the "galamsey queen" in Ghana.

He claims that her reappearance raises questions about whether she ever left Ghana.

As part of his trip to the Volta Region, he spoke on a radio station headquartered in Ho and voiced concern about Aisha Huang's evil deeds while also reiterating his support for her prosecution.

"I'm still unsure if she was actually deported. or whether she first left the country and has since returned. There still appears to be some ambiguity about it.

However, he said, "She's become the sort of moniker for everything that galamsey represents.

“We have concerted to work at it. The corporation of the courts is what we must have. The penalty for getting caught was pretty mild until I arrived. However, we altered the legislation to increase the severity of the penalty for those who are detected.

Speaking about the struggle against Galamsey, he added that during his administration, it has gained more popularity than in the previous.

He believed that under his presidency, efforts to stop illicit mining had significantly improved.

Therefore, the President encouraged Ghanaians to keep up the momentum in addressing the threat.

First and foremost, the efforts have produced a lot of results. Galamsey is currently a hot topic of conversation nationwide. There is a problem with galamsey that is present everywhere. At the very least, we succeeded in our goal of raising awareness of its wicked nature.

"When I arrived, nobody was discussing galamsey. Since we arrived and concentrated on it, it has become a topic of conversation nationwide in Ghana, in homes, offices, and gatherings. So that's a good development," was emphasized.
