In spite of the passionate calls from the Ghana citizenry for his dismissal of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, President Akufo-Addo has staunchly certified him as the best man for the job at the current dispensation of economic crisis.
Although there have been several occasions where the president has reshuffled his Ministers and terminated the appointment of those deem underperforming, H.E Akuffo Addo sees the honourable finance minister stand tall among his ministers.
According to the President, the Minister’s economic credentials and expertise put him in a position to take the country out of the current economic mess.
This same Finance Minister who people are calling for his blood is the very man who took us very successfully out of the IMF programme and helped us produce the 7% rates of growth that we have before the COVID. I believe that he has the same determination to work us out of this crisis as he showed at the beginning of our government, he said.
This comment comes in the wake of the various calls on the President to reshuffle his ministers and sack those considered underperforming.
The reshuffle calls stem from both the governing NPP and outside circles and have been spearheaded by the cedi-dollar depreciation, increase rapidly inflation, and high-interest rates among other factors.
