An accident involving school children at Adiembra in Asante Mampong has resulted in the injury of about seven students while one other was declared unconscious.
According to reports, the incident happened on Thursday as Emmanuel Presbyterian Model School students were leaving for the day.
Osei Kwadwo Richard, the driver of the Mercedes Benz bus with the license plate AS-8016-X, when he was dropping off the students at their respective houses, he lost control, drove off the road, and hit a container on the side of the road, which sent the bus into a somersault.
The bus ultimately fell on its side and slammed against a wall.
Fortunately, he had already alighted the majority of the students and was preparing to drop the last batch when the tragedy occurred.
Seven of the 12 students on board were hurt during the tragic incident.
They received emergency medical attention at the Mampong Municipal Government Hospital before being released.
However, a student who was unconscious was sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
