Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), delivered an impassioned appeal to party delegates, urging them to cast their votes in his favor to lead the party and ultimately triumph in the forthcoming 2024 presidential elections.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized his substantial contributions to Ghana's development and highlighted his commitment to further transformation.

Speaking to delegates and party faithful during a weekend gathering in Donkorkrom, he declared,

"I am always driven by public service, not the desire for personal gains. It is the reason I am offering myself, first to be elected flagbearer of our party, and then I can offer myself to the people of Ghana so that I can continue to contribute towards the transformation of our country."

The Vice President acknowledged his accomplishments despite not holding the presidency.

"I have not been president, but as Vice President, I have worked so hard and contributed significantly to the development of our country through landmark policies I have initiated and spearheaded," he added.

Among the transformative policies Dr. Bawumia touted are One Constituency-One Ambulance, Agenda 111, Digital Addressing System, digitization of crucial government services like ports, Passport offices, and DVLA, as well as the establishment of the ghana.gov payment platform, implementation of the money interoperability system, and the e-Pharmacy platform.

As the competition heats up for the leadership of the NPP in the lead-up to the 2024 elections, Dr. Bawumia faces a slate of contenders, including Alan Kyerematen, Kennedy Agyapong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, and Kofi Konadu Apraku.

Dr. Bawumia's drive for leadership is grounded in a vision of progress and transformation for Ghana.

With his record of initiating and driving key policies that have contributed to the nation's development, his bid to lead the NPP reflects his dedication to continuing this trajectory and securing a brighter future for all Ghanaians.
