Popular Tamale radio presenter, Halik Musah, widely known as DJ Tell, has been banished from Lamashegu, a district in the Tamale metropolis of the Northern region.
The decision was taken by Chief Naa Ziblim Abdulai due to DJ Tell's continuous incitement of the public against traditional authorities and subjecting them to public ridicule.
Chief Naa Ziblim Abdulai expressed his concerns about the reckless comments made by the radio presenter on Radio Tamale.
He gave the station an ultimatum to either sack DJ Tell or vacate the Lamashegu area.
The chief stressed the importance of respecting culture, elders, Imams, and chiefs in the region.
The banishment came after DJ Tell's interview with Casta DIVA, during which they discussed the issue of a committee supposedly fighting drug addiction and peddling in Tamale.
DIVA accused the committee of abusing people involved in drugs and suggested involving security agencies instead.
The comments sparked anger among committee members who subsequently attacked DJ Tell and his guest during a live radio show.
The chief warned that any radio presenter disrespecting chiefs and opinion leaders on air in Tamale will face severe punishment if caught.
He urged the media to be mindful of their comments and emphasized that such reckless behavior would not be tolerated.
