Ghanaian singer and former partner of renowned musician Shatta Wale, Michy GH, has unveiled her intention to step into the world of politics in the near future.
The multifaceted artist, who has also made a name for herself as a social media influencer, expressed her passion for politics and her desire to utilize it as a platform for positive societal transformation.
In a recent interview with entertainment journalist Kwame Dadzie, Michy GH shared her thoughts on the potential of politics as a means to create a lasting impact.
She highlighted, "For me, politics is the best work one can do, which confers status on its practitioners, opens doors for them and gives them an opportunity to impact society positively."
While Michy GH's initial claim to fame was as the partner of Shatta Wale, she has since been pursuing her own career in music, social media influencing, and humanitarian efforts.
She affirmed her determination to accomplish her goals, stating,
"I do have goals. That is why I am going to school now. I have several goals in the future and it wouldn't include doing this in my 40s or my 50s."
With a clear focus on her ambitions, Michy GH expressed her interest in parliamentary politics as a potential avenue for her contributions.
"Hopefully, we can go into politics…That's literally the best job in Ghana at the moment…It gives you a certain status in society that opens doors for you, that might not be open to anyone. So it's for the status, and the opportunity to help other people," she explained.
Although her romantic relationship with Shatta Wale has ended, Michy GH emphasized her continued care for him, describing their bond as "brotherly love."
The former couple shares a son and has both taken separate paths in their respective careers.
Michy GH's latest single titled "Hustle" showcases her determination and resilience, mirroring her journey in the world of entertainment and beyond.
As she envisions a future in politics, Michy GH aims to leverage her platform to create positive change and bring about the progress she believes Ghana needs.
